Ouray Jeep Adventure Day 3 Corkscrew

I love the color combinations of the red mountains, green and the snow in the background.

A bit bigger group today.

How many men does it take to hold up the hood?

We had a bit of an issue on the road up to the Silverton overlook.

Thankfully the dozer operator was very helpful and pulled Tony and Linda to safety.

Everyone pitched in and helped to get them back on the road again.

He worked on the road before we could head back down so it wasn't quite so narrow.

The next few pictures are of the construction on the red mountain highway. There is about a 1,000 ft drop off down to the bottom of the canyon in this spot. We found the process fascinating - "safety Scott" was having a bit of a hard time with it. :)

No equipment or employees were tied off...just a bit different from the North Slope safety culture...

Cliff and Delores' custom built RV - Cliff did all of the work himself. It's got to be the coolest RV we've ever seen.

Anyone recognize this? Hint - "we got ourselves a convoy..."

Green resting at camp after a "hard" day of Jeeping. Of course every 5 minutes someone else is stopping by to talk to him because he knows everyone - or they want to check out his 1946 Willies Jeep that he bought in the 70's. He told us "you don't really know your vehicle until you've owned it for 30 years."
