We bought this house because of the backyard... |
yep - it's ugly - but it's BIG! |
Potential - we knew we could build exactly what we wanted - and still have room left over... |
We started with the pool. We pushed it out from the house so we would have room for our deck plans... |
The in-pool cleaning system going in |
Re-bar - lots of re-bar |
Form for the pool poured! |
cool deck form set |
cool deck concrete poured |
Grotto in - I wasn't sure this was going to be worth the extra $6,000 - but now that it's in I love it! |
I have no idea what this was all about - but it seemed to give it color and texture... |
Finished product! Well almost - we still need water. Notice the tile is in also. |
Cool deck is in - ready for plaster... |
Plaster crew |
Done! Actually - this was the just the beginning of work for us... |
As soon as the plaster was done the pool had to be filled - and then brushed three times a day for the next few weeks. This brought out the blue specks in it. |
We had Masterscapes start on the patio before we were done with the pool - mostly because the pool kept being delayed. Can't say enough positive things about this company! |
Fire area in the back corner |
This guy cut the patio without following a form - and it looks awesome! |
Finishing touches on the patio - the red flags mark out where the built in BBQ will eventually go |
Patio is finished. Our plan is to take that first window out and put in a set of French doors... |
Patio cover going in. Half is solid - half is louvered |
Walkway to the fire area |
From the other direction |
Second half of the cover going in |
Finished! Love this patio - notice the curve matches the pool. |
That's a lot of gravel... |
Gravel spread! |
This shows the pool mechanics - we didn't gravel on the side of the house because we plan on putting a workshop over there |
So happy with the finished product... We will put in some trees next fall. |
Still lots of room for landscaping - and games! |
We actually had one more thing to do... |
We hired a tree company to come in and clean up the neighbors tree (with their permission - in fact they were thrilled) |
Our backyard oasis... |
